About Us
Australasia Infrastructure Partners (AIP) is rooted in a legacy dating back to 1963, when Peter Flood established our family contracting business between PNG and Australia.
Today, we carry forward that heritage of reliability and local knowledge to tackle everything from remote-site project delivery (and/or recovery) to program implementation of locally lead urban impact projects.
Our focus is on empowering communities. By embedding capacity-building initiatives into every project, we leave behind more than infrastructure—we leave lasting skills and stronger local leadership.

OUR APPROACH
We engage early and collaboratively, bringing contractors, stakeholders, and community representatives into the planning process from day one. Early contractor involvement (ECI) - a methodical approach to de-risking design, procurement, and implementation.
Construct-ability, cost management, and ownership of a ‘fit for purpose’ outcome routinely interrogated at each project milestone.
Stage-gate reviews and independent compliance audits ensure momentum never stalls. And if your project is off course, our rapid recovery solutions can be deployed to get you back on track with minimal disruption.
Commitment to Excellence
At the heart of our operations is an unwavering commitment to excellence.
We don’t just manage projects—we rescue them, refine them, and deliver results that exceed expectations.
Whether navigating remote site complexities or fast-tracking urgent recoveries, our team brings precision, accountability, and deep industry insight to every project.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction, ensuring that every milestone reflects our dedication to doing things right the first time.
Excellence isn’t a goal—it’s our baseline.

Royal Children’s Hospital (General hospital complex Herston, Brisbane QLD)

Senior Project Manager (D Flood) 1993-1995 - AUD80 million

The RCH redevelopment project involved the consolidation of children’s health services spread across multiple locations of the Herston general hospital complex into two buildings dedicated to child health. The construction methodology included the underpinning and shoring of adjoining heritage listed buildings. The coordination of services complexities across multiple health departments into two multi level buildings and the simultaneous (and seamless) commissioning, decommissioning and handover from the “old” to the “new” without disruption to hospital operations - a meticulous demanding exercise in project management and coordination.

Wacol Maximum Security prisons redevelopment (QLD Dept. of Corrections)

Senior Project Manager (D Flood)

Comprehensive redevelopment of the Arthur Gorrie and Sir David Longland maximum security facilities, delivered under a 30-month Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) design and construct programme. Scope included: • Demolition of outdated infrastructure • Construction of 800 new maximum security cells • Delivery of modern ancillary buildings • Full refurbishment of remaining operational facilities—all within a live prison environment. Execution required meticulous staging through a single controlled “sallyport,” ensuring secure access and continuity of prison operations throughout. The project successfully transitioned two legacy sites into technologically advanced correctional environments, setting a new benchmark for facility delivery where high-risk security and construction safety defined every decision and programmed activity.

Mt Hagen Commercial Centre (Steamships and Tininga joint development).

Senior Project Manager (D Flood)

This ambitious development delivered Mount Hagen’s first full-scale supermarket and a suite of retail tenancies, forming a multi-building commercial precinct in Papua New Guinea’s remote Highlands. Faced with a distressed programme and nine months of forecasted works remaining, the team executed a full recovery—compressing delivery into a three-month schedule under demanding supply chain conditions. Despite the logistical complexity, the project was completed ahead of schedule, enabling a successful Christmas season launch. A key success factor was the strategic engagement of the local workforce. Skilled and semi-skilled labour from the surrounding communities played a central role in its delivery, fostering regional capacity, and ensuring cultural alignment throughout construction. The project set a new benchmark for commercial delivery in PNG, combining speed, supply chain logistics (local ‘know how’), and community impact.

APLNG - Australia Pacific LNG trains 1 and 2

Senior Project Manager (D Flood) - APLNG AUD150M Enabling Works/Project Support Program; AUD300M ‘Stay in Business’ Panel

As part of the multi-billion dollar Australia Pacific LNG development in Western Queensland, our team led the upstream enabling works, supporting Trains 1 and 2. This included: • Construction of access roads and pipe lay-down areas • Delivery of retention ponds and permanent mining camps • Deployment and management of wellhead fly-camps • Full camp operations and logistics coordination • Construction of the Miles Airport to support regional workforce mobilisation • Oversight of APLNG’s “stay-in-business” maintenance programme operating across remote terrain, the project demanded precision planning, resilient logistics, and seamless coordination with multiple stakeholders. Our delivery ensured continuity of upstream operations while laying the groundwork for long-term infrastructure performance in Queensland’s energy sector.

Waterfront Newstead Urban Renewal (including ‘the Gasworks’)

Senior Project Manager (D Flood) - AUD350M MIRVAC Development

At the heart of Brisbane’s inner-city revitalisation, this flagship project transformed a decommissioned gasworks site into a blue-chip, high-density riverside precinct. Delivering the first two stages, the works encompassed: • Environmental remediation of the former Newstead gasworks site, bounded by Breakfast Creek Road, Longland Street, Waterloo Street and the Brisbane River • Installation of major stormwater infrastructure upgrades across Brisbane’s city network • Bulk earthworks and subdivision into multiple super-lots ready for high-rise towers • Permanent riverbank retention and boardwalks to safeguard and enhance the precinct • Construction of 200+ luxury residential apartments to ultra-high-end standards • Off-the-plan sale of the first 100 apartments as “penthouses,” ranging in value from AUD 4 million to AUD 20 million. Despite the complex decontamination and civil-infrastructure demands, the programme was delivered on time and on budget. The result set a new benchmark for urban renewal along Brisbane’s riverfront, seamlessly integrating world-class design with robust, future-proof infrastructure.

Lombrum Naval Base Redevelopment - Manus Island PNG

Senior Project Manager (D Flood)

Procuring and mobilising a multi discipline, PNG team (from diverse cultural backgrounds) to deliver ancillary services infrastructure and buildings across the new master planned naval base in a Tier One contracting environment. The challenge was to achieve a start date and demonstrating to the head contractor (Clough) that contract conditions could be satisfied by a new team of PNG national staff with no previous project delivery references.

QLD Police Headquarters (Roma St Brisbane)

Site Engineer (D Flood)

Consolidation of police command functions across an entire Roma Street city block in Brisbane, delivered to international standards comparable with New York City’s Police HQ. The scope—equivalent in scale to an 80-storey commercial tower—combined cutting-edge security, resilient infrastructure and seamless urban integration: • Site masterplanning, demolition and earthworks across a full city-block footprint • Construction of high-security zones: command centre, forensic laboratories, detention suites and briefing theatres • Deployment of advanced security systems: biometric access control; encrypted communications network; 24/7 integrated surveillance • Complex structural core and vertical-transport design to support uninterrupted operations • Resilient building services: dual power feeds; redundant IT and comms infrastructure; hardened emergency systems • Architectural façade and public-realm activation, creating a civic presence that balances accessibility with protection. Rigorous stakeholder coordination, strict security clearances and city-centre logistics management ensured delivery on time and within budget. This precinct set the benchmark for secure, large-scale government facility development in Australia.
